Module 4: Courageous Conversations Around Diversity for People of Color

In this course, learners will be guided through a discussion of why Courageous Conversations are important when it comes to personal and professional growth. Learners will develop an awareness and understanding of why Courageous Conversations are important and People of Color's roles in these conversations.  As learners get in touch with their “why,” they will be guided through correct postures for approaching these conversations. Learners will also be guided through emotional triggers that individuals may have when it comes to Courageous Conversations around diversity. Upon completion of this module, learners should be able to summarize their role, posture, and how to recognize emotional triggers and boundaries regarding  Courageous Conversations around diversity. Each of these elements works together to support the development of an individualized action plan. The action plan serves as an opportunity to set clear and concise goals for engaging in discourse and discussion. Having these goals helps learners work toward creating a more equitable, inclusive, and safe work environment that recognizes and values Courageous Conversations.

  • How to develop a written action plan to outline how one can play a role in Courageous Conversations around diversity issues in a manner that promotes equity and inclusion for all.
